The study included eight donor countries (Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden), which were studied and compared among themselves in terms of their organizational structure responsible for the management of BDC, relationship between the political and development agendas, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the development agency in the field, level of decentralization of authority to embassies or development agencies’ country offices, modalities of cooperation and types of implementation partners. The insights gained from the study were used to by the Ministry and the Czech Development Agency (CzDA) to inform the planned setup of CzDA offices in priority partner countries, as well as to improve some other aspects of the Czech BDC and inform the new Strategy of International Development Cooperation of the Czech Republic for the period of 2018-2030.
