The article presents the results obtained within the project No. CZ.3.02.2013.221.004 entitled “Approach of the population of the Czech Republic to EU regional policy”. Communication activities contribute to the fulfillment of EU regional policy objectives and therefore form an important part of it. From the point of view of evaluation of communication activities, in addition to the identification of specific impacts, it is important to pay attention to the course of the communication process itself. The aim of this article is to present the importance of communication in regional policy, to confront individual elements of the communication process with the needs and attitudes of the population of the Czech Republic and to identify problematic areas of communication.
